Arcigay Il Cassero is a non governmental organization promoting human rights, social inclusion, anti-discrimination policies focusing on sexual identity and sexuality, gender and multiple identities.
Arcigay Il Cassero was funded in Bologna in 1982 and has been an active actor and partner in promoting gender equality and sexual rights in Bologna and in Italy.
It propose a varied offer of activities, services, projects on :
LGBTQ culture
art festival on homosexuality and gender identity, music festival, exhibitions, permanent library on LGBTQ issues
healthcare and STD prevention
well-being
prevention of lesbo/homo/transphobia and discrimination based on gender identity/expression, active involvement and social inclusion of people with fewer opportunities,lectures and events on various sexual orientation-related subjects, LGB help-line, socialization groups, parties
education
non formal education workshops, educational support to teachers and students, seminars and workshops on diversity, sexual orientation and respect in schools.
Arcigay Il Cassero is member of Arcigay – Associazione Lesbica e Gay Italiana and of ARCI federation. It is also an active member of ILGA – International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association.
Arcigay Il Cassero staff is actively involved in promoting equality and respect through dialogue, campaigns, in depth training and everyday work and commitment.
